Yes I think there will be chaos. The process of the cycle of life should not be interfered with. This is not medical science. Medical science should be focussed on how to improve the human life of the diseased and not to restore or bring back life to the deceased.

I don’ think there will be chaos. There will be however initial uncertainty on the procedure and what may follow.This finding will not bring bak life to a deceased organism. I would like to point out that life will not be infinite to any individual, life of one does not go on forever.Improvement of of human life is the focus of this research, for the iradication of toxic (however insignificant) proteins that might decrease our lifespan.

No, it won’t lead to chaos. It will just mean the end of the difference between the young and the old. We can then hope to see a 20yrold marrying a 100yrold. That way older people would be in much demand because of their sheer experience in this world.

If we sum up the equation given by these two intellectuals, we’ll get chaotic situation all over the world.

Imagine:

A 20 yr old weds a 100 yr old (for his/her sheer experience) but gets the shock of his/her life when the experienced power-house passes out without showing a glimpse of his/her hard-earned experience.

Isn’t it? With the ageing process, we have the real status of the person in front of us. With the ageing process eliminated, we will see such surprise tragedies on an hourly basis.

This definitely spells CHAOS!!

Why do we need to change the course of nature? Imagine you parents looking as old as yourself. Even grandparents!

Also, by reversing or halting the ageing process only on the physical aspect wouldn’t help completely. A 80 yr old person may look handsome like a 20 yr chap.....but will not be able to change his mindset.

You gotto be young at heart! :)

Of course it will lead to tremendous chaos! A person starts ageing right from the time he or she is born. So what is the right age to stop aging? Childhood, teenage, adulthood, middle age or oldage? Who will decide on that? Each age has its own charm.

The scientists are wasting their talent. Rather than physical ageing stopping mental ageing will help mankind in a lot of ways.

In biblical times, ages are spoken in the hundreds of years, although I’m not sure of what type of fate it would create now.. I think it may create a type of inequality. I’m sure this wouldn’t be offered across the board and would be propesed on financial measures..If you have money, you can live longer and have a better quality of life, etc...I think it sets up science to play God, apart from the mental maturity levels as proposed in other comments.
