Going by the Sci-Fi movies and books we watch and read, I think that it is the only way.

The earth will die down in another 2.5 billion years when the sun would start getting colder and expanding like a balloon and would be inhabitable.

Of course this is the only way because we know aliens would not have survived in their mother planets because mother planets don’t last for ever as they are like any other heavenly body that has a life span.

No, I don’t think so. Survival of mankind does not depend on space exploration. It’s just an assumption on the basis of discovery of new land and good atmosphere. Even the scientists themselves are not sure what will be the benifit of it to mankind. We are surviving much before the space exploration.

Survival of mankind is definitely dependent on space exploration. It is because of space exploration that we have made a lot of scientific progress. We have sent satellites and spaceships to outer place. We are exploring the cosmic threats to mankind also. Without that it would be like covering yourself up in a blanket of ignorance and making no progress at all.

Most likely yes if we are able to develop technology fast enough to make inter-stellar journeys. It is relative to the time that humankind has in hand with respect to the time of the end of humankind. We have to win the race against time.

Is there any way out then???? I don’t think so. Space exploration would give mankind unlimited space to travel, expand and develop even further. The earth is not going to last forever, but mankind can.

Yes,its necessary,atleast to discover the mystery of universe.Its human nature to know more and I think its essential for survival of mankind also,impact of any chain reaction due to nuclear explosion or accident,striking of asteroids ,global warming or abnormal rise in temperature,uncontrolled bacteria etc etc may,destroy the mankind in future.Its good if the scientist thinks about an alternate place.

It is obvious, isn’t it? Is there any way out. Given that we don’t kill each other in wars with nuclear weapons, or a cosmic mass hits us before we develop the capability to guard ourselves, mankind will not die out automatically. Space exploration provides the only solution to escape when the earth becomes inhabitable.

No one can escape what is inevitable. If we are destined to be wiped out from time then it will happen. Exploration of space is no guarantee that we shall find a suitable place to flee to when things start getting dangerous for life here on earth.

What else can save mankind? Remember, the space is like a ocean and we are just in one small tiny island. What will happen when it gets overpopulated or a tsunami submerges it? We have to find a way to go to safer islands. If we don’t explore we simply perish.

Of course yes. Even if our survival isn’t the question we should still be trying o unravel the truth that lies out there.

And coming back, the rate at which we are procreating, it won’t take long for earth to be crowded out. And exploring space won’t happen in a matter of centuries either. So a long term view ( a very long term view) necessitates exploration of space.

Survival of mankind depends on what we do here on earth. Look at the mess it is in. Abject poverty, financial rape and plunder of the markets, tensions across race colour and creed, wars, etc. Under utilizing sustainable resources. If it aint’ right here it sure would not be right in space. Our thinking as mankind has to change to survive. Remember when you run away from home one sure thing you always take and that is yourself.
