There were more men working than women, so of course more men will lose jobs than women. Women also tend to be paid less than men for doing the same job, so it only makes sense to keep the employee that you pay the least.

More job losses for men has led to redefining or say reversing the gender roles and challenging men’s status as family breadwinners.

Why can’t people leave this men-women mentality and start thinking as partners. What difference does it make, if man looses a job and his wife supports financially? Atleast he should be happy that they have a backup and look for other options rather than getting his ego in between.

And the woman should also provide the financial and the moral support so that her man doesn’t looses his morale.

I don’t think its men-women issue. Somebody who’s services can be compromised with goes first, be it men or woman and yes pay is another point. high paychecks, leaves first.
