After the massacre the blame-game is on. India has the proof and Pakistan too is flagging the rhetoric that the “rogue-elements-within-the-state-within-the-state” are mainly responsible for the attacks. There is little doubt that it’s “India’s 9/11.” The situation is tensed and Indo-Pak peace process is deeply hurt. The security in India is increased to “war level”. What now?
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said:
## “The well-planned and well-orchestrated attacks, probably with external linkages, were intended to create a sense of panic, by choosing high profile targets and indiscriminately killing foreigners.”
## “It is evident that the group which carried out these attacks, based outside the country, had come with single-minded determination to create havoc in the commercial capital of the country.”
## “We will take up strongly with our neighbors that the use of their territory for launching attacks on us will not be tolerated, and that there would be a cost if suitable measures are not taken by them.”
Statements from Pakistan:
## Yousuf Raza Gilani: “We know that Pakistan is not involved but at the same time they wanted cooperation from the ISI. When we are not involved and we have nothing to hide why should we feel guilty about it?”
## Foreign Office statement in Islamabad: “Pakistan is ready to deepen its engagement with India, including on combating terrorism but it is important to avoid blame-game and knee-jerk reactions. Terrorism is a global problem that needs to be combated in all its forms and manifestations through serious, sustained and pragmatic steps”.
“All troops from our western border would be withdrawn to redeploy them at the eastern border. Not a single soldier will remain.”
## Mr. Qureshi: “Our expression, and our insinuations, need to be measured. Pakistan wants to co-operate. Pakistan wants a friendly relationship with India. And we have today a common enemy. Extremism and terrorism is a common enemy.”
“Our hands are clean, there is nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of. We do not have to be defensive and we are not defensive as Pakistan is not involved in this incident.”
I’m so rooting for India.
But war means more innocence lives to be lost.
Before taking ANY such drastic steps I think ISI Chief should visit India and have a wording. So that we get a clear picture what exactly they have to say.
Because as we are indians we dont jump to any such decision.
It’s so refreshing to come across a like minded person on the Indian side.Nikil you work on your side and I will try to convince the ’saner’ elements on my side.I just hope we can convince enough people.
might be Indian Government move their troops to Pakistan border but it will be only to pressurize Pakistani government.
but both countries know, war is no choice when we are developing countries.....

Whilst Pakistan stands ready and willing to fight terrorism, NO country should be under any illusion that Pakistan can be blamed without evidence for such acts of violence. If India has evidence it should take the matter to the International court of criminal justice in The Hague, Netherlands. Indian must desist from blaming Pakistan for all Indian failures and contradictions in Indian society..
wars are never great, but to keep peace at home a external threat must exist and must seem superior. only with this approch can india unite it self, and create the base for a union amongst all indians. also, to create the infrastructure that it needs to become a devoloped nation.
if history has taught us anything it is that all developed nations became developed through external war economies. look at any developed nation, they used worlwar 2 as a means to create an economy and then to sell off their weapons to the world slowly to pay of their debt. in either case india needs to think of its self intrest and not what usa tells them. it is in the intrest of usa to remain the superior power, and any threat of loose nuke’s, which pakistan might do in time of war. so, remember pakistan is thinking of their own intrest and india should do the same.
Unfortunately we both have enough to destroy each others top 10 cities a half dozen times each.

There is renowned German philosopher Eagle’s dictum ”Terror consists mostly of useless cruelities perpetrated by frightened people in order to reassure themselves”.
I never branded every Pakistani terrorist. If you want to read too much and that too between the lines, I cannot do anything.

Weigh this against my observation: ’Shivaji was a terrorist as defined by the muslim rulers ,but he was a hero for the Hindus’...and perchance you may find more food for thought in my statement then in the German philospher’s.
If you derive pleasure in finding food for thought only in your observations, who am I to prevent you from committing harakari.
What do you mean ”So you finally admits”. Obviously like most Indians you have myophic vision, and undertake to read what you wish- and twist the words of others to suit your ends.
Read all my article and comments. They are directed at one thing only.....terrorism and terrorist acts in both countries will keep on increasing as long as we have people like you on both sides...and in this game India has more to loose.so understand what you want with this;I cant make it any clearer.
My take?
”pakistan should be eliminated from the world map”
Hi Praveen. Does this mean you are in the army or that you are going to join in order to participate in this carnage and risk your life for your country? Oh, No? Ah, I SEE! You want OTHERS to do your dirty work for you!! Ok, you’d make a great politician.
”india should go to war with pakistan!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Hali, you are so courageous to be telling Indians that they should go fight and maybe get killed. (Then again, it’s easy when you live in San Jose USA). My advice? Go back to India and enlist. (Oh. Too busy?) Ok, maybe next time....
”On second thoughts I agree that India should launch attacks on terror camps”
Jayanta, you should know better at your age.
Hassan, Sanwali, Abid, Nikhil and the others, thank god (or whoever you like) that there are some sane and rational voices out there.
NO WAR!!!
Period.
(ps. The ”agree/disagree” choice of boxes here is a VERY bad idea. Do we have to opt for one or the other? Do we have to CHOOSE? Can’t we just comment without being obliged to give a simplistic judgement of the author’s intentions or (sometimes complex) reasons for writing? If this ever becomes generalised on the site, please do not apply it to my page. Thanks...)
Terrorists are not the only people organising violence. They get help from those who have a strategic/political/militaristic agenda.
And therein lies the problem. If all civilised countries accepted that violence is not the way to resolve disputes, terrorism would quite simply fade away.
But, without taking sides in the Pak/India issue, that ain’t gonna happen overnight, that’s for sure.....

But Indian people do not want the Government to enter into a war with Pakistan on these grounds. We wish to make use of the commitments of the Pakistan government to help India to fight the terrorism in this noble soil.
India will take up the issue of controlling terrorist movements in the borders without any lenience. At the same time will get the support of the Pakistan government to destroy the the training camps in their country.
India will take up this issue with UNO and USA to get help and pressure on Pakistan to make them honor the commitment to uproot the terrorists.
Further India will have a screening system with citizenship IDs.This will make all the Indians to identify the enemies who mix up with their brothers and sisters in this country. The government securities will also identify the terrorist supporters in this land and easily tighten up on the non ID holders.
India will think on these security lines to save our people from the dastardly terrorist movements.
