After the massacre the blame-game is on. India has the proof and Pakistan too is flagging the rhetoric that the “rogue-elements-within-the-state-within-the-state” are mainly responsible for the attacks. There is little doubt that it’s “India’s 9/11.” The situation is tensed and Indo-Pak peace process is deeply hurt. The security in India is increased to “war level”. What now?
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said:
## “The well-planned and well-orchestrated attacks, probably with external linkages, were intended to create a sense of panic, by choosing high profile targets and indiscriminately killing foreigners.”
## “It is evident that the group which carried out these attacks, based outside the country, had come with single-minded determination to create havoc in the commercial capital of the country.”
## “We will take up strongly with our neighbors that the use of their territory for launching attacks on us will not be tolerated, and that there would be a cost if suitable measures are not taken by them.”
Statements from Pakistan:
## Yousuf Raza Gilani: “We know that Pakistan is not involved but at the same time they wanted cooperation from the ISI. When we are not involved and we have nothing to hide why should we feel guilty about it?”
## Foreign Office statement in Islamabad: “Pakistan is ready to deepen its engagement with India, including on combating terrorism but it is important to avoid blame-game and knee-jerk reactions. Terrorism is a global problem that needs to be combated in all its forms and manifestations through serious, sustained and pragmatic steps”.
“All troops from our western border would be withdrawn to redeploy them at the eastern border. Not a single soldier will remain.”
## Mr. Qureshi: “Our expression, and our insinuations, need to be measured. Pakistan wants to co-operate. Pakistan wants a friendly relationship with India. And we have today a common enemy. Extremism and terrorism is a common enemy.”
“Our hands are clean, there is nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of. We do not have to be defensive and we are not defensive as Pakistan is not involved in this incident.”

Beware of hawks on both sides of the Indo-Pak border who eagerly wait in wings to whip up emotions of gullible public. The war between the two countries seem to be a distant dream as the ’big brother’ (USA) wont allow them to undertake such suicidal action in the wake of 26/11. Of course, it is the national tragedy for India but it should be rather utilised in mobilising saner elements in both the countries.

War is not the only way to show the anger.
Before taking ANY such drastic steps I think ISI Chief should visit India and have a wording. So that we get a clear picture what exactly they have to say.
Because as we are indians we dont jump to any such decision.

For there to be true peace in south asia India along with its 1 billion people must forever renounce anti-Pakistanist thought. Just as in Europe it is a crime in many nations to question the severity of the holocaust on the Jews, It should be made illegal in India to question the desperate position of pre and post-independence Indian Muslims and the justitfication of the 1947 Indian partition. The miserable conditions which were inflicted upon Indian muslims by Hindu’s will never be forgotten by the people of Pakistan.
Whilst Pakistan stands ready and willing to fight terrorism, NO country should be under any illusion that Pakistan can be blamed without evidence for such acts of violence. If India has evidence it should take the matter to the International court of criminal justice in The Hague, Netherlands. Indian must desist from blaming Pakistan for all Indian failures and contradictions in Indian society..

india should go to war with pakistan!!!!!!!!!!!!! however, it has to be done right!!! india should use the F.D.R approch and create a war economy to deal with pakistan. since all the other major economies are pumping tons of money into their markets, to fix the credit crunch, india should do the same but under a war economy. using a national draft to and a total war economy could help india develop major freeways, national wireless based wi-fi (highspeed internet), better railway system, freshwater system, and other infrastructures to help india move into the modern era. plus, the weapons technology that will be developed and manufactured could be sold to other allies to pay of the war debt. conversly, if inida doesn’t take action it will it self as a nation. over the last few decades, this anti-life movement has been spreading from afghanistan to pakistan and now it seems to be enterning india. so, now india must ask it self, let a few die in war or live like pakistan and afghanistan, in the long run.

I think India should go to war with Pakistan because over the years I have lived in India and it is horrible to live with terrorist they are basically pushing the Indian public out of our own territory by harrasing us and if u dont move they will go to horrible levels.This is time to stand for ourselves India and claim our rights.When we had war with Pakistan we only needed a little below 72 hours and then we didnt have to worry about terrorists for ten years, but the president at that time was assasinated and I am preety sure by terrorists. Also the terrorists brainwash children as little as 16 years old and make them fight.

On second thoughts I agree that India should launch attacks on terror camps and buildings that houses terror heads like Azhar Mehmood and Dawood Ibrahim with precision guided bombs.
You see sometimes to cure an illness surgery is needed even if it means risking the life of the patient. We can’t let someone die of a disease slowly and agonizingly.

The diatribe by a tiny section of Pakistanis is not new. It seems they have refused to mend their ways and thinking and have developed a particular mindset. If it took a half-century to inculcate such unreasonble attitude, it would take another half-century that they start giving weight to reasons.

Weigh this against my observation: ’Shivaji was a terrorist as defined by the muslim rulers ,but he was a hero for the Hindus’...and perchance you may find more food for thought in my statement then in the German philospher’s.

You write very well, may be in similar profession. We are in war with Pakistan from last 60 years, with four actual war and remaining always war like sitiuation. We have witnesed 200+ blast & 2500 + death in near past. Just google ”Blast in India” and all your preachings will vanish. These are not terrorist alone, they are Govt/ ISI/ Army sponsered. There is no end to it, if you think it can be solved by sitting across the table, then I must say that you have entered into chain without knowing the basic reality. Our GREAT leaders are trying the same from past several years.

And therein lies the problem. If all civilised countries accepted that violence is not the way to resolve disputes, terrorism would quite simply fade away.
But, without taking sides in the Pak/India issue, that ain’t gonna happen overnight, that’s for sure.....

But Indian people do not want the Government to enter into a war with Pakistan on these grounds. We wish to make use of the commitments of the Pakistan government to help India to fight the terrorism in this noble soil.
India will take up the issue of controlling terrorist movements in the borders without any lenience. At the same time will get the support of the Pakistan government to destroy the the training camps in their country.
India will take up this issue with UNO and USA to get help and pressure on Pakistan to make them honor the commitment to uproot the terrorists.
Further India will have a screening system with citizenship IDs.This will make all the Indians to identify the enemies who mix up with their brothers and sisters in this country. The government securities will also identify the terrorist supporters in this land and easily tighten up on the non ID holders.
India will think on these security lines to save our people from the dastardly terrorist movements.
