In the past, we saw a heated argument between Google and media owners for revenue sharing. Online newspaper owners alleged Google for stealing their content and argued that Google should share some of the millions it makes from using their content. In a new development, newspapers have threatened to charge for their online editions. Companies representing more than 700 newspapers have expressed interest in the online-payment platforms being developed by Journalism Online. Do you think this plan will work, particularly when readers have been enjoying free news online for the last ten years or so? How much do you think it will affect the online readership or will it?
