A new advertisement program is launched in UK. This program is aimed at turning young people away from knife crime. In this campaign, posters showing youngsters behind bars alongside the slogan ‘Carry a Knife and Lose Your Life’ will be displayed at bus stops across England and Wales. Also, TV and online adverts will include accounts from young people held in young offender institutions warning of the dangers of getting involved with knives. Now it remains to be seen how effectively does this slogan help change teenage violent mentality?

Any campaign is a failure till the time people themselves do not decide to live a crime free life.

It's a gateway utility. Next thing you know, they'll want the ability to make fire.

It should be higher. A knife is a valuable tool to have. If I misplace my swiss army knife or folding knife and don't carry one in my pocket I feel like I am naked or something. Obviously you don't want youngsters bringing them to school or using them as weapons, which I why it is important to establish that they must be responsible with them at a young age and they will respect them for the rest of their life.

there are 3 reasons why people carry knives.the 1st reason is because it is seen as a cool thing to do.the 2nd reason is as protection and the 3rd reason is to attack and cause harm to people.i am aware of pensioners carrying knives as they are concerned about being attacked.defense is the main reason people have weapons.look at the bigger picture.our armed forces are there primarily to defend the country not to attack other nations.

First it was guns. Then it was knives. What's next, rocks? Weapons aren't the problem; people are the problem. Britain has soaring crime rates; in the US, they've plummeted to 50-year lows. There's a lesson here. If the police and courts did their jobs the problem of knife crime would not exist.

So, by telling a young thug, 'don't carry a knife, it's not socially acceptable', he is going to take notice, throw away his knife and become a solid, British citizen? I don't think so. We're too far down the line heading towards anarchy for that.

Well no one has the guts to say this but crime has risen as the country has become "less British". Not all apples are bad of course but deep down your history and pride are the reasons for restraint even in a time of war. Some people have no history and no pride and therefore nothing to loose by their next savage act.

Where are the parents of the knife carrying thugs? Why aren't they keeping better tabs on the behaviour of their children. It's not society, entertianment or politicians' fault these children kill...its rubbish parenting.
