US troop withdrawal: Is ‘Mission Iraqi freedom’ accomplished?

The much talked about US Iraq troop withdrawal is finally near to complete. US troops have withdrawn from Iraqi cities and towns, handing over full control to the 600,000 Iraqi army and police personnel. It’s the most crucial step in Iraq’s return to independence, particularly when we hear about suicide bombing every now and then. Does this withdrawal mean “Mission Iraqi freedom” accomplished? Or do you think this the best time for US troop withdrawal?

Was the attack on Iraq aimed for setting up the democracy? Why western media is harping on mission Iraq? There was nothing like a mission. It was an imperialist attack on the sovereign Iraq.

I think the greatest success in Iraq was the killing of Saddam Hussain. Only time will tell if the US and allies have succeeded or not but Iraqis are free from the clutches of Saddam.

Mission Iraq was a mission for establishing a pro America government there. It was the resistance by the Iraqi people that forced the US to withdraw it's forces. Now people of Iraq will decide about it's future and I am confident that here will be no space for pro US forces in Iraq.

Iraqi freedom??? don't be a fool man. US Iraq war was never for the liberation of Iraq from Saddam and his Bathist shibboleths. it was for oil... If US is so serious about freedom and democracy why the dictators in Venezuela, Libya, Myanmar,Zimbabwe are enjoying everything that belongs to public? And troop withdrawal is again misleading. US will never withdraw from Iraq until it has the last drop of oil and blood!!you just wait and watch.

There was nothing like ‘Mission Iraqi freedom’. It was bush's personal motives to start a war in iraq. Iraqi people will at least be able to see a ray of hope now.

They're withdrawing because the auctions on the oil fields are beginning. The US will never actually leave Iraq for good. It's about the oil and blood people.

I am glad this is happening, but I don't see any end at sight with these wars with Obama in charge. He is using the same withdrawal from Iraq as Bush, increasing the war in Afghanistan, and he has started to bomb Pakistan.

Now we just have to wait for Iran to walk in and take what they wanted 20 years ago.

US troops with drawl is just an eyewash. In fact US has established it's military bases there from where it can control the whole Arabian countries. Not mission Iraqi freedom but capturing Iraq is complete.

The sooner they are out the better. I do not believe in peace in the middle east, so there really is no reason wasting resources there.

Ya and another mission has started. He is increasing the troops in Afghanistan. Out of one war zone into another.
