Should Paralympics be organized within the Olympics?
One of the main aims of Paralympics is to promote disabled persons’ cause. However, organizing it separately, with very less world attention, is not fulfilling the purpose. Organizing it within the main Summer Olympics would draw the world’s attention towards the difficulties faced by the disabled people. Winners of Paralympics events would be able to add to the final medal tally of the countries too. Some disfavor the idea, as it would dilute the spirit of the participants, who though would not be directly competing with able-bodied athletes, may fail to come to the limelight. In addition, there are fears that the main event might overshadow the Paralympics altogether if organized within it.

Yes, you have pointed out a very good issue Viewpoint. Paralympics is to promote disabled persons. So it should not be organized separately to make the disabled feel inferior and distinct from the rest/normal sports person. It is hampering their inner strength and confidence, because not many are interested to watch them. That must be scheduled under the main summer Olympic events. So that the world will recognize them as stars and not just as disabled.

It is a league of their own. Identity is an important aspect of living which defines complexes be it superiority or inferiority. These people are out there to prove it out the world that they can perform and be achievers in their own domain. It is something that makes them feel that they are at par with others. It is good to know that we people here talk about organizing an event that brings them to limelight.

Most certainly yes. The event should be within the Games. That way the world can watch the events and it will get more coverage. This way, no one is taking any notice and the poor athletes are robbed off their glory.
