There is a panic in US over the latest teen scandal ‘sexting’ that has prompted calls for a change in the law. Sexting is all about how to use technology otherwise. Students in US are using their cell phones to send the nude or semi-nude images to their friends. Sexting is on the rise in the US and so does the teenage pregnancies in the schools. Sexting is used as a mean to sexually attract the partner, that has increased sexual activities among the teens. Many in US believe that Sexting is behind the increasing numbers of teenage pregnancies.

Teenagers should be free to make their own decisions. If a female teenager is dumb enough to text nude photos. That’s her choice and her responsibility to deal with consequences.

Yes Daniel, in a way they should be free to make their own decisions but only when they know the consequences. And if inspite of knowing that, they choose misery, let them. But cautioning them is our responsibility.

Its curious teens doing what curious teens do. Of course it's not the fact they're in a developmental stage, full of hormones and new to this whole "sex" concept, it's obvious that they are doing such things.
Its so unfortunate that life revolves around sex, and teenagers are human beings ready and willing to explore and have a touch of this that is so forbidden and ’sinfully’ sweet,a young mind is always yearning to learn a new thing each day, and with technological advancement what do we expect?

It's not about the technological advancements but the human brains. technology is only the mean to execute the features otherwise. i agree that technological advancements do the damage but do you mean by this that technological advancements should be stopped if such things are happening?

Yes! If this is the case in the schools, then it is bound to increase the sexual activities among teens and automatically increases the chances of pregnancy.

Someone's life shouldn't be ruined because of one little harmless mistake they made as a teenager. We should be educating them.

The consequences of ignoring adolescent sexual activity and not providing them with information or protection can be seen very easily when looking at the number of teen mothers in the United States. Even if you only look at the population of white teenage mothers in the U.S. it is still nearly two times greater than the entire population of teen mothers in any other industrialized nation. So clearly ignoring the issues of sexual activity among teens is not helping in any way.

We can't blame one single factor for the increase in the teenage pregnancies. There are many factors collectively responsible for this. Because we can't stop them now at this stage, it becomes our prime duty to educate our children on the pros and cons of the sex and the early sex as well.
