Sri Lanka :
The twenty-six old year war between LTTE and Sri Lanka Govt. is almost over. After the strong arms and suicide attacks, finally the Tamil rebels succumb to the Sri Lankan army. Its leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, along with his two deputies was surrounded and shot dead in an ambush while he was trying to escape the war zone in an ambulance. With Prabhakaran already gone with two of his deputies and remaining rebels laying arms, is it the end of LTTE and demand for a separate ‘Eelam’?

The thought of Tamil liberation has not died with Prabhakaran. People still want their freedom. LTTE will not die till the time Tamils get their rights. Someone or the other will reform LTTE

I think Gaurav has a point. Someone else will again reform this organisation. It has to be removed from the root level and that will happen when the issue of Tamils get resolved.

Well I am doubtful about Prabhakaran's death. LTTE is ideologically driven organization. You can kill a person but not an ideology. For crushing an ideology you have to address the root cause of and we can’t admit that LTTE is past till the plight of Tamil people in Sri Lanka doesn’t improve.

Phoolan devi was restricted to a small part of country, LTTE had international support
