Is Iraq’s ban on visits to Saddam’s grave justified?

The Iraqi government has banned all organized visits to the grave of Saddam Hussein, the country’s former leader who was executed in 2006. The government issued the order on Monday after some schools began arranging trips for their pupils to visit the site in Saddam’s native village of Al-Awja, outside the northern town of Tikrit. The cabinet secretariat has sent instructions regarding the ban to the education ministry and to Salaheddin province and its provincial council.

How can we justify a ban on visit to a grave? It's the infringement of personal freedom.

It's thought policing.
Democracy is just mob rule, it doesn't guarantee freedom.

It's a great idea, delete Saddam Hussain from history. He was a dictator and deserves this treatment.

Saddam Hussein was an evil, tyrant and murder to the majority of Iraq's population. It's a democratic step based on wish of majority of people.

Going to worship a dad genocidal dictator seems odd to me but hey... whatever floats your boat.

It didn’t really say why the ban on large groups going, but many museums have had to do the same because the cost of upkeep is beyond their budgets. If it was thought policing, they would just close it all together.

Who told you that Saddam was a genocidal dictator. He was a leader of Iraqi people. That's why they are going at his grave to pay tribute to him. Saddam's thought will long live.

Saddam Hussain was a GREAT leader of the world who dare to speak truth. Ban on visiting his grave is a worst decission. I will defenately visit his grave when I go there. GOD may bless all wo love Iraq and and Saddam. God will defenately punish those who insult Iraq and Saddam.
