Iran :

According to the latest US media reports, Israeli jet pilots trained for a possible strike on Iranian nuclear sites last month. The joint training exercises took place off the Mediterranean island of Crete; over 100 IDF airplanes flew over Iran and the world questions ‘Why’. The answer is obvious. However, the language of force would do little to encourage Iran to cooperate. Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz warned that Iran would face attack if it continues to pursue its nuclear weapons program. Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami too warned Israel of a “strong blow” if it attacks Iran.

my answer to your question is no and Israel should dare not to attack Iran. the reason is simple, as the war will not confine to israel and Iran but will spill over and over. there are so many conflicts in Mideast and this will prove the powder keg to a conflict that will gobble innumerable.

Attacking Iran will be a bad idea. With changing equations with its neighbors, and some of its internal upheavals will ruin it fully, in case it opts for the war against Iran. Olmart is under police investigations. A lot of zig zacs in policy are about the internal dynamics of this power struggle. If Israel planned to attack Iran believe me it wouldn't be carrying out practice runs over Greece for all to see.

No!!! war is israel's destruction. Israel will be a loser for taking a blunt action against Iran. and it is speculative that the deal with the Hamas and peace talks with Hezbollah will dash down to the ground. A massive fallout will start in Middle east that is sitting on the brink of a destruction if such an endeavor will take place. And above all this can unite all the Arabs against Iran, and that will lead to total destruction of Israel, making Ahmadnezad's dream of wiping israel off the map for ever.

yes iran is provoking a war. they are behaving like mad bulls caring nothing about their looses. they have defied international community for ceasing the nuclear program. they have given plucked hen whatsoever to sanctions only because they have massive natural sources. but war once provoked in the middle east will end everything. But alas the world power are applying diplomacy to persuade iran only because it will open a big market for their weapons.

Nothing will come of this, just like nothing has come of scores of warnings and sanctions that have been posted imposed on Iran but they all are buried as lame.

But realize that if they can invade and take Iran over??? or will Iran be mum to any such move??? I think its completely stupid to think.

First of all i am against war. and secondly, after considering everything strategically, it'll be more or less a war between US and Iran wherein Israel is an incapable pawn that will be uprooted by the Arabs, if there will be no US support. If this endeavor will be taken into consideration, then there will be nothing for US and Israel but to bite the dust in the same way as US did in Afghanistan and iraq. so just don't think over it. world could not afford any war anywhere in the world.

iran is not a threat to the world peace. I ask why such consideration??? this is biased approach on Israeli side to intervene and take such an aggressive step on iran. this will provoke a war that no one wants. Iran has complied a lot with the world community, even more than the world cooperated with Iran. the most cooperative step that goes in favor of Iran is it allowed IAEA observers in to Iran to judge its nuclear program. then how the world can say that Iran is provoking a war in the Mideast.

can you all see hypocrisy behind israeli maneuverings. This military muscle flexing makes me think how Iran is provoking a war in the MiddleEast. Talks are only an effort to pull the wool over your eyes. All these peace negotiations with Syria, Lebanon and Hamas is just a dodge to attack Iran. Once the dirty deed is done then the so called "truce negotiations" will be rejected by the b*****ds in Tel Aviv and we will be back to square one. It’s only then the world will realize who was provoking the war, but by then it would have been too late.

Iran is provoking a war. there is no doubt. it is giving push to a nuclear race that will end in nothing bur destruction. on the other it is not ready to abandon its nuclear program, even when it was offered with the considerable incentives. If iran will be allowed to pursue its nuclear program, there will be may in the Mideast to pursue the same and world will be left with no argument to stop them doing that. First of them will be Israel, then Syria, Saudi Arabia…this will even lead to a destruction even bigger than one can anticipate if war breaks out between Israel and iran. Yes. Iran has repeatedly declared that it aims at total destruction of Israel. There can be no doubt about the purpose of the development of the bomb. Israel, as a country, has every right to defend itself from it - even if it means a pre-emptive attack. (Will any one opposing action by Israel speak the same words if it is his country that is threatened the same way?) Iran needs to refrain from its ”destroy Israel” agenda first and then stop the program to develop the bomb in the interest of every nation in the region.
Israel is not alone in the region to fear Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons. Arab countries are equally apprehensive, though Israel is vocal about Iran’s nuclear weapon program.

I don’t have much knowledge about this nuclear issue, but here is an excerpt which I found on the internet. Here is the direct link to that page and below is the excerpt.
There are currently eight states that have successfully detonated nuclear weapons. Five are considered to be ”nuclear weapons states”, an internationally recognized status conferred by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In order of acquisition of nuclear weapons these are: the United States, Russia (successor state to the Soviet Union), the United Kingdom, France, and China.
Since the formulation of the NPT, three non-signatory states have conducted nuclear tests: India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Israel is also widely believed to have nuclear weapons, though it has refused to confirm or deny this.
So, its highly confusing for a layman like me when Iran is singled out by the world (read US and Israel) on the nuclear issue and is labeled as the one provoking a war.
I mean, I am really confused. Or is it that the Middle-East nations are not allowed to do anything nuclear??
Can anyone help me on this topic?

The fault dies not entirely lie with Iran. The US is equally to blame.
Any nation that refuses to toe the US line or to accept the dominance of the US in the comity of nations is promptly branded as a rogue state and hounded to bring it to its knees.
One must understand that Iran is a proud nation. Its nuclear aspirations must be respected. To make it more adjusting to world security, it must be respectfully engaged in talks.

The questions Aneez have raised are valid ones. USA, the first to come into possession of nuclear weapons did it in competition with the Nazi Germany. It was a question of who does it first. That is, the one who failed to come out first would suffer at the hands of the other. Next, the Soviet Union that became a rival of the USA immediately after WW II pursued research and tested nuclear weapons.
The UK and France did it to defend themselves from the Soviet Union. China, which had inconvenient relations with the Soviet Union, also followed suit.
Now, a need to stop this proliferation was felt, and the NPT came into being in 1970.
Notably, India, Pakistan and Israel refused to sign this treaty. Iran is a signatory to the treaty, unlike these countries. North Korea signed and withdrew later and declared it was in possession of nuclear weapons and tested its own device in 2006. South Africa developed nuclear weapons and voluntarily disassembled them later.
The problem lies in selective application of the law signed by more than 180 countries.
Iran is a nation with a long and remarkable history. If other countries in Asia - notably Pakistan on the eastern borders of Iran - can possess nuclear weapons why not Iran?
But, in the larger interest of nations in the region it is advisable that Iran stops developing nuclear weapons and establish good relations with all countries including Israel, with which it has no territorial or any other disputes and the problem is only a political one.

Paulraj raises a relevant point. The NPT has been used selectively. India and Pakistan went nuclear nearly ten years ago, but only sanctions were slapped on them; most of which have been pulled back.
The reason Iran is being threatened with airstrikes is that it is making threatening noises on Israel. Ahmadinejad has openly said that once Iran gets its nuclear weapons it is going to bomb Israel. Israel has every reason to feel worried.
During the Kargil conflict Pakistan too had threatened to nuke India, but Pakistan was amenable to US pressure. Iran, in contrast, is like a loose cannon. Russia and china refuse to use their influence on that country. They see Iran as a tool to needle the US.

my answer to your question is no and Israel should dare not to attack Iran. the reason is simple, as the war will not confine to israel and Iran but will spill over and over. there are so many conflicts in Mideast and this will prove the powder keg to a conflict that will gobble innumerable.

Attacking Iran will be a bad idea. With changing equations with its neighbors, and some of its internal upheavals will ruin it fully, in case it opts for the war against Iran. Olmart is under police investigations. A lot of zig zacs in policy are about the internal dynamics of this power struggle. If Israel planned to attack Iran believe me it wouldn't be carrying out practice runs over Greece for all to see.

first, let me make it clear that I have nothing against Israel or Iran. But its time that we stop being allies with them. I'm sorry but if you want to live around a bunch of people who are stupid enough to think and take a measure like the one israel did go for it.

It silly to USA government to fear Iran than to fear some strong countries like Russia and China. After all this 21st century the use of satellite will be use to see Iran, then Why are you fear of them? If you are not planed to destroy that areas long ago.what happened in Japan in ww2 and Vietnam war should never happen gain. IF no these strong weapon of 21st century will destroy most people in this evil world. Many countries are waste who will start it first. Now let leaders who love peace set some rules for peaces instate of encouraging supporting and sponsor the wars all over the world.

iran is not a threat to the world peace.

Iran is not proviking another war of anykind. Instead irresponsible and tyrant behavior of Israel and Zinonist slavery of Bush administration is pushing the world towards chaos, uncertainity and may be 3rd world war.
