Perhaps economic crisis has wider impact than one can think of. It’s hit every nook and corner hard and Al-Qaeda seems no exception. Now, the deputy commander of Al Qaeda has begged Pakistanis for funds to fight America. In an appeal which indicates even the terror group is feeling the economic crisis, Ayman al-Zawahri made a direct appeal for cash. Speaking English in an audio message addresses his ‘Muslim brothers and sisters in Pakistan’ and urges them to join the fight against the US - or support the struggle financially.

Recession for terrorists? Is it the reason that last week was the bloodiest week for the allied forces in Afghanistan?

Pakistan has been funding the Al-Qaeda right from the time of its inception. Nothing new in this news.

In fact Al-Qaeda is surviving on the anti US sentiments of Muslim world. That's why people support them. They will definitely support them. The first and foremost task of Obama should be to clear the doubts of Muslim people. Taliban and Al-Qaeda can only be defeated by isolating them from the people.

Do you think Al-Qaeda has something to do with recession? They might have been facing the financial crises but recession is not in any way related to their activities.

It's not the recession affecting Al-Qaeda rather it's the pressure from international community responsible for Al-Qaeda's financial crises. It's the best way to deal with them.

I doubt if people will donate on an appeal by Ayman al-Zawahri. Obama should have made this appeal. Only Obama can convince the people for donations.
