Will developing 'invisible fabrics' end up as playing with fire?

The science-fiction portrayals of invisibility, such as the cloaking devices used to hide space ships in Star Trek, might be truly possible. Scientists in the US say they are a step closer in developing materials that could render people invisible. The work could have uses in military stealth technology - but engineers have not yet created the materials that could be used to cloak an aircraft or a tank.

Interesting science this. There would be something as perfect camouflage in the coming years and there would be devices and the technology to achieve this. But when that happens, an antidote (counter technology) will most certainly be out before people can take advantage of this for nefarious purposes.

It will be a long time when such fabric technology is in the market for common people. It would be fun though to sneak in people's rooms without being noticed to hear what they say about you when you are not around.

We always fear what we do not understand.
I might sound selfish, but I’ve always wanted to be invisible. And, seems like my prayers will be answered soon.
Dreams aside, I believe people do not need an invisible cloak to commit a crime and get away. They’ll do it even without it if they’ve made up their mind. I don’t see, therefore, why developing invisible fabrics is playing with fire. Let us not make tenuous assumptions.

LOL! I don't think so because it will be very expensive fabric and it is not going to happen in the near future. And when it does there would be detectors as well. It will be good for a prank but not to carry out any serious crime.
