Can ‘Terrorist Facebook’ help win war on terror?

Social network analysis is analyzing information about who knows who or who talks to whom. By analyzing the social networks that exist between known terrorists, intelligence agencies are building up a Facebook-style databank of international terrorists aimed at identifying key figures and predicting terrorist attacks before they happen. The idea is to amass intelligence data and feed it into computers programmed to make associations and connections that would otherwise be missed by human agents. Do you think it will help curb terror attacks or win ‘War on terror’, particularly when the doctrine has been criticized as time consuming, wasteful and counterproductive?

It's nice to maintain a record of terrorists but it can't help in any way to win the war on terror. Rather the general public will suffer out of this.

To suggest that you could use tech to catch guys hiding in caves without electricity is laughable. It's impractical.

I doubt if they really want to build this system to catch the terrorist. The idea behind this is more sinister.

I find this a good idea to get hold of those who are anti social elements. What will be better than that if they get caught before committing the crime.

If it gets successful, nothing like it.
