In France, a new debate has started on the airbrushed images in newspapers, magazines and other advertisements. French MPs are demanding a new law having health warning bold imprinted on published images: digitally enhanced. This is meant to protect young girls from the false image of female beauty and to combat the stereotypical image that all women are young and slim. The MPs argue that it’s not just a question of public health, but also a way of protecting the consumer, as in some cases it may lead to anorexia or bulimia and other health problems.
